Janet Daby was elected as the Labour Member of Parliament for Lewisham East on 14 June 2018. Since being in Parliament she has taken a particular interest in Brexit, education, poverty, the environment and immigration. Janet was a Labour Local Councillor in Lewisham East from 2010 - 2018, and in 2012 was promoted to the Mayor’s Cabinet for community safety. She was appointed Lewisham’s Deputy Mayor immediately before being elected to Parliament. Janet is a Founding Director of The Whitefoot and Downham Community Food Plus Project, an organisation which combats food poverty and isolation, helps over 50 local people each week, and which received a national award in recognition for its work. Janet lives in Lewisham East with her husband and two young children. .
