WHAT?
The Soccology workshops and programs teach participants mental health awareness and develop emotional literacy. The workshops and programs are for young people, adults and staff members.

Soccology workshops and programs cover the definition of mental health, the uniqueness of our feelings, building resilience, developing empathy and self regulation. For more depth on the Soccology syllabus, please click here.
Soccology use themes that relate to the groups present and the social climate. For example, tailoring our mental health program to ‘Street Health’, when working with young men from inner cities, who are vulnerable and at-risk of gangs. We have also adapt mental health work for a coronavirus specific offering - ‘Covid-19 Reintegration’. Using cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) methodologies, to help those anxious about returning to their previous routines.
Program schedules:
One year
Three months
Eight weeks
One day per week, one hour to four hours per day (depending on the group).
WHERE?
Programs are delivered at organisations facility, the England football team’s national training centre and home of FA education.
HOW?
Soccology uses the contributions of professional footballers from around the world, about their personal experiences and uses football as a metaphor. Allowing people who are not fans of football to engage in the process, as the content is about the inner mechanics of people.
Ninety-five percent of the program will be delivered to the whole group, the remaining five percent will be delivered to selected individuals. As part of the legacy program, to ensure sustainability.
Delivery style is in the form of debate, the arts, quizzes, presentations and conversation, to adhere to a variety of learning needs and preferences.
Soccology work is created from the Soccology book. Participants will receive a signed copy of the Soccology book and a certificate on completion of course (if punctuation requirements are met).
