WHY?

Hood Health is a program that focuses on mental health in the hood/ghetto/streets, or another word you may use to describe areas where people are vulnerable and at-risk of gangs.

We work from the Player Premium in the Soccology book, with a focus on attachment theory and the link to risky behaviour.

WHERE?

As this program is delivered online via video call, groups can be at home, in the conference room and classroom. Anywhere in the world!“Kevin delivered Soccology to our players. It was the first time we had run workshops like this but he was the perfect choice of presenter to run the sessions. The players were fully engaged and staff commented afterwards that we should run more programmes like this for the players, which isn’t the reaction we always get.”

– Matt Henly, Head of EducationArsenal Football Club

HOW?

Soccology uses the contributions of professional footballers from around the world, about their personal experiences and uses football as a metaphor. Allowing people who are not fans of football to engage in the process, as the examples are about the inner mechanics of people. Ninety-five percent of the program will be delivered to the whole group, the remaining five percent will be delivered to selected individuals. As part of the legacy program, to ensure sustainability.

Delivery style is in the form of debate, the arts, quizzes, presentations and conversation, to adhere to a variety of learning needs and preferences.

Soccology work is created from the Soccology book. Participants will receive a signed copy of the Soccology book and a certificate on completion of course (as long as punctuality and evaluation requirements are met).
